24 companies have emerged as the most admired companies in Asia and the Pacific in terms of sustainability.
Leading sustainability advisory firm CSR Asia, in its annual report on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) profession in Asia, has named 13 Asia-Pacific-headquartered companies and 11 foreign firms as among the most esteemed companies in the region.
The findings are based on the responses of nearly 500 CSR managers, consultants and NGO professionals in Asia, giving insights into the sustainability strategy, hiring practices and CSR budgets of top businesses in the region.
The most admired Asia-Pacific-based companies are (from top to bottom) Tata Group, MTR Corporation, City Developments Limited, Swire Group, Siam Cement Group, Energy Development Corporation, Indian Railways, Aboitiz, CLP Power, Macquarie Group, Sansiri Public Co., Ltd., Tech Mahindra Foundation/Mahindra Group and Wipro.The most admired foreign firms are (from top to bottom) Unilever, Patagonia, Nestle, IKEA, H&M, Interface, Microsoft, Danone, Google, Intel and Nike.
The companies were honored for their ability to communicate their “sustainability efforts and consistently score well in sustainability rankings,” according to the report.
