Manila, Philippines, 19 November 2020 – With the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4th IR) well under way, developing skills in areas like cloud computing and cybersecurity have become critical for the youth around the world. In an effort to help prepare young Filipinos for the jobs of the future, professional services firm Deloitte Philippines and global delivery center DCPDC, Inc. (Deloitte Consulting Philippines Delivery Center) are launching Video Learning Modules as part of its WorldClass program, in partnership with the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST).
The modules were developed by local in-house experts from Deloitte and cover four key areas, namely: Cloud Computing, Mobile Development, Business Continuity Management System, and Cybersecurity.
These modules are set to be rolled out initially to students from partner public universities, including the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig, Jose Rizal University, Pateros Technological College, Rizal Technological University, University of Makati, and Philippine Normal University.

Apart from supplementing the learning of students already involved in tech-related and business management programs, the WorldClass Video Learning Modules will be made available to the public at large through the ASSIST's Career Engine YouTube channel. Given the current demand for more learning opportunities online, this measure will ensure that the modules can reach other sectors, such as workers looking to upskill or those who have been laid off due to the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and are looking to transition to a different field.

Landicho, Managing Partner and CEO of Deloitte Philippines, reaffirmed the firm’s commitment to inclusive and accessible lifelong learning opportunities. “As a global network that actively prepares our people and our clients for the prosperity and progress of the 4th IR, it seems only just that we also use that capability to prepare those who are at risk of being left behind in this advance: [people] who may not have access to the skills, education, and opportunities that will help them succeed. This is the heart of our WorldClass ambition,” he shared.
Through the launch of these modules, Deloitte and ASSIST aim to empower 10,000 Filipino youth by March 2021. This would be a significant step towards Deloitte’s overarching goal of empowering 380,000 Filipinos by 2030 through the WorldClass initiative.
