Properly running a Facebook Like Page is a surprisingly challenging responsibility. While starting one is extremely easy, it’s the proper maintenance of the page itself that is difficult. With almost a daily requirement to post content and a constant barrage of new features, it’s easy to understand how most people are often overwhelmed by all of it!
However, managing a Like Page shouldn’t be as complicated. In its simplest sense, managing a Like Page simply boils down to you sharing content that your followers can engage with. But that’s the thing, right? Sometimes, finding content isn’t as easy and when you do find great content, it typically doesn’t draw the same kind of reaction (if any) that you would expect. That said, if that is a statement that you can resonate with, then here are some quick and easy tips for you:
Draw inspiration from similar pages
Running out of content to post, a problem as old as social media itself.
While numbers vary, the general agreement is that Facebook Like Pages should publish content at least once daily – a steep target most especially if your organization does not develop your own content (i.e. blogs, videos, etc.).
Should you regularly find yourself in this dire situation, an easy fix is to start utilizing the Pages to Watch section in your Insights. This section allows you to create your own hot list of other Like Pages that develop similar content as you. In addition, this also gives you an overview of their pages’ top mosts, making them accessible for sharing through your own page. Overall, this is an effective solution to help you save time usually spent rummaging for content.
Listen to the numbers
Social media in general is one part science and one part art. While the art focuses on your creativity with your content, the science is part can be easily accessed through your Insights section.
One of the most helpful tools that you can utilize, the Insights tab gives you an idea of who your audience is and how they interact with your page. Looks overwhelming? The key is to focus on a couple sections to start:
- First, the People section gives you an overview of who your followers are. This will give you an idea of whether you would need to factor in other languages and also whether the content you typically post are appropriate to the certain demographic that comprise your followers.
- On the other hand, the Posts section gives you an overview of how your followers interact with your content. This gives you an idea which of your content – based on its type (i.e. photo, link, and video) – had the most reach and engagement. But most importantly, this also gives you an idea on the time of day your followers actually interact with your posts, giving you tips on the perfect time to post for maximum reach and engagement.
Through the People and Posts insights, you should be able to gather the necessary information to properly tailor your content based on your followers’ behavioral patterns, allowing for better chances of getting more engagement.
Schedule content ahead of time
Last but not the least, preparing one post per day is not as time-consuming as you think it would. In fact, you can easily – and are recommended to – prepare posts for a week or more at a time within a single day. A feat that’s easily achievable with the help of scheduling posts. You can easily do this by clicking the schedule option found at the drop down arrow beside Publish when creating content.
Don’t know what to schedule or when to schedule it? Just go back to the two previous tips and that should help you get started.
That’s about it. With the help of these 3 easy tips, hopefully managing a Like Page sounds more doable and exciting for you know. So what are you waiting for? Go log in and start raking in those likes and shares!
